Dr. Shumona De is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She completed her honours undergraduate degree in Microbiology & Immunology as well as her medical degree at Dalhousie University, followed by family medicine residency in Moncton, New Brunswick. Since following her partner to Hamilton in 2017, she has worked in family practices in Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford and Stoney Creek.

She has graduated with distinction from University of Cardiff’s Post-Graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology program, and has also completed training and practice under the supervision of a dermatologist. She is a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada. Her other medical interests include medical education and evaluation, and she is an active member of the Committee on Examinations at the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
